Cleanup video on NileBlue: 🤍 - For this video, I make a chemical called manganese heptoxide, which is an unstable and strong oxidizer. It looks for any excuse to decompose and it reacts violently with most organic things. I tested it on a few things like cotton balls and paper, as well as solvents like acetone and ethanol. I also tried firing a small liquid rocket with it. In my previous video, I made soap from vegetable oil. It got me wondering, is it possible to go backwards? Can I make oil from soap? This is my first attempt to do this and I think I will try it again in the future. I wouldn't use the same procedure though, because I don't think this one was too good. The high heat let to a lot of glycerol breaking down and I think a lot of side reactions. Today I'm going to be showing you the classic barking dog experiment that I did a while ago on my main channel. To do this, I just have to fill a tall cylinder with nitrous oxide gas and add a few drops of a solvent called carbon disulfide. Now I just need to cover the top, and shake it around a bit. In this vial, is a concentrated form of uranium called sodium diuranate (Na2U2O7), and it's extremely radioactive. What's kind of weird is that this little box, is even more radioactive, but it isn't filled with a bunch of pure radioactive material, and it's just some old watch hands.
